Seems a bit crazy it wasn’t there before now but ….
Our latest local unveiling saw the Virginia Woolf Society of Great Britain revealing a new blue plaque to both Virginia and Leonard Woolf, at the site of their former residence, 52 Tavistock Square.
The Woolf’s lived here from 1924 to 1939. During this time , Virginia wrote many of her novels, including Mrs Dalloway, To the Lighthouse, Orlando, The Waves, The Years, as well as the feminist classics, A room of One’s Own and Three Guineas.
The plaque was unveiled by the Society’s Honorary President, Dame Eileen Atkins, in the presence of the Mayor of Camden and members of the Society. The event celebrates the Society’s twentieth anniversary.
